About
We build for the day after next.
A fathom is an old unit for measuring how deep the water runs. We borrowed the name because the most useful thing to know about your money is how deep it gets ahead of you, not how it looked last month.

Our story
Started with one spreadsheet.
In 2023, our founder kept a spreadsheet that guessed her balance three months ahead. It was ugly and it was always a little wrong, but it was the only money tool that ever made her feel calmer instead of guilty.
Fathom is that spreadsheet, rebuilt with care. It reads the money you already have moving, projects it forward and tells you, in plain words, where the tight days are. Then it gets out of the way.
We are a small, independent team in Lisbon and Toronto. We are paid by subscribers, not advertisers, which keeps our incentives simple: make the forecast more useful, and never make it louder than it needs to be.
