Every balance has a lowest day. For most people it falls a few days before payday, right after rent and the utility bills have both cleared. You probably know roughly when it is. You probably do not know how low it goes.
One number worth knowing
Your low point is the single most useful figure in personal finance because it answers the question everyone actually has: can I afford this without something going wrong later? If the low point stays comfortably above zero, you can. If it does not, you have just learned that early.
Three ways to raise it
Move a large bill to the week after payday
Spread an annual subscription into monthly payments
Set a small automatic buffer that never gets spent
None of these change how much you earn or spend. They change when money moves, and that alone is often enough to turn a tight week into a boring one.
